Art print of one of my screen prints (it´s a reproduction, not an original screen print).
"American Gothic Flat" marks the first of a series of screen prints that pick up paintings of american painters of the early 20th century. The series is called "Flat Paintings" and takes certain areas of the original paintings that have a before unseen composition within the composition. These new compositions are abstracted and discarded of their painting style that is replaced by a straightend geometric structure. Light and shadow are only represented by halftone screens.
Thereby the original artwork is paid hommage and it comes alive again in a new simplified manner.

Kunstdruck eines meiner Siebdrucke (es handelt sich um eine Reproduktion, nicht um einen original Siebdruck).
"American Gothic Flat" stellt den ersten einer Serie von Siebdrucken dar, die Gemälde von amerikanischen Malern des frühen 20. Jahrhunderts aufgreift. Die Serie heißt "Flat Paintings" und bedient sich bestimmter Bereiche der Originale, die eine zuvor unsichtbare Komposition in der Komposition aufweisen. Diese neuen Kompositionen sind abstrahiert und ihres malerischen Stils entledigt, der durch einen geradegezogenen, geometrischen Aufbau ersetzt wurde. Licht und Schatten werden durch Halbtonraster repräsentiert.
Dadurch wird dem Original gehuldigt und es wird auf eine neue, vereinfachte Weise wieder lebendig.
